About Us
Our Partners
The Canadian Stroke Network is founded upon partnerships that extend across many disciplines and sectors. We link diverse research expertise with industry, health-care practitioners, public stroke organizations, and policy-makers. The CSN could not exist without these collaborations, or without the generous support of its funding partners, such as the national and provincial Heart and Stroke Foundations.
Academic and Clinical
Through academic and clinical partnerships, the CSN links the work of individual scientists and health care professionals. This broad base of expertise is vital to accomplish our research goals, and ensures findings are evaluated and disseminated among all Canadian researchers and health-care practitioners. Our partnerships with major research facilities capitalize on existing expertise and reduce redundancy in research efforts.

Industry
CSN's industry partnerships connect our researchers to a broad range of services, and bring CSN's research expertise to Canada's biotechnology sector. We work with industry to develop medical discoveries for the benefit of Canadians and protect Canada's intellectual property through licensing to existing companies or creation of spin-offs.

Non-Profit
Participation of community organizations brings valuable perspectives to the CSN's activities. The Network shares with non-profit organizations the goals of increased education and public awareness. Together we are developing public education programs and educational tools for better prevention and treatment of stroke. Several non-profit groups are represented on our Board of Directors and in our Partners Forum.

Government
The CSN collaborates with research organizations sponsored by the federal and provincial governments to integrate national research priorities and improve the cost-effectiveness of existing facilities. Our members work with policy-makers to identify key governmental issues surrounding stroke, and look for ways to translate research findings into improved public management of stroke in all its facets.
